Where has Mrs. Wilson been?

In my garden of course.

I promise pictures will follow shortly. So far, garden's weeded, topdressed, lots of stuff moved and planted, lawn ripped out and leveled and still a little more to go.

I have containers to plant, which makes me crazy, as they should have been done by now. My husband and brother have been working like dogs and have only 1 arbour left to build. I can barely feel my butt. And I only have feeling in one shoulder. The hot tub is my new best friend and hopefully, this is good for 10 pounds. Okay, maybe 5, as there seems to be alot of consumption of beer.

If you ever want your yard in order, offer to have a wedding. It has been one crazy year, however, it has made get things done, that I know wouldn't have gotten done. We work better under deadlines, and the yard is looking fabulous.

By the end of June, we should have completed our to-do list, and then we can kick back and enjoy the boys and the water. Watch out lake !!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Wishing all my friends and family members a wonderful mother's day. To my mom, thanks for teaching me all I need to know about being a mom. You are a great example for me.

To my friends, thanks for your wisdom and your ear. I wish you a great day with your families.

You all have made me a better person and mother.

Unavailable for comment

It has come to my attention, that I am unavailable for comment. Well, good thing most of my friends are gardener's and are also unavailable for comments.

It made me start thinking about how in the winter, we manage to get together for Udon soup and shopping. All the while, talking about what has come in through our gardening mag's. However, when spring hits, we are nowhere to be found. Except in our garden's.

Thankfully, my close friends have been with me for a while and if they are not in their gardens, the others seem to understand.

When I get a "Are you still alive" phone call. It's not "What have you been up to?" but "How's the garden coming?"

Thanks for checking in on me. I am fine and my garden is coming along. Every year, I love it more. I love my plants and digging in the dirt. Pyscharitrists would be broke if everyone gardened, because it is the best, healthiest and most rewarding form of therapy I have found.

From my garden to yours, happy planting.

Wahoo....

Gardening season is finally here. I have been non stop for about 5 days, and have at least five more to go. I'm just cleaning my gardens and top dressing them at this point. Man, I can't believe the weeds that like to grow in my garden.

It's also offical that spring is here. The boys found their first snake of the season and decided it would be good to show me. Bad timing though, as we had company and us women scattered. I then proceeded to threaten within an inch of their lives and made them take it away. I HATE snakes and we have some big ones in our yard. Keeps the slugs to a minimum, so I have learnt to cohabitate.

Big shopping day today, as one of the local nurseries is closing out, and a big sale is happening. Lucky for us, as it is at the beginning of the season, when we really do want to buy. Sad to see it go though, as she always carried unique plants. I guess, her life is taking her in a different direction. Good for her, and I wish her luck.
